I have been painting a great deal lately. When I started 3 weeks ago, I had a theme, a slight idea as far as style and was pretty open as far as medium. I now have no idea where I am going with my painting.
This week I have been working on about 4 paintings and I have now Idea what I will be doing when I finish. When I started painting a few weeks ago I was using Oils and oil bars. Made a switch over to acrylics and have been working with Tempera for about a week. And yes! I am finger painting.
Have finished 8 or 9 paintings never touching a paintbrush and it is awesome. So much fun. But I am starting to freak out. I dont know what I am trying to accomplish. I have drifted from my theme. The style & look I was going for is now morphing into something else. I have to come up with a plan before I finish these last 4 paintings.
My problem is that I feel like I am on the edge of something. A personal breakthrough in style and technique. At the same time I feel I need to move on before I get bored. I have had this feeling plenty of times and I know if I dont do something quick I am going to get stuck.
